A haunting literary debut about a woman who begins having visions that make her question everything she knows: a flash of movement in the corner of her eye; elapsed moments that she can't recall; visions of a blonde girl in the darkness that only Marta can see. As Marta's visions persist and her reality grows more disjointed, it's unclear if the danger lies in the world around her, or in Marta herself. The blonde girl is growing more real every day, and she wants something.

The end was very dissatisfying. The books plot was good and i liked what it was about but personally I wasn't hooked.

Psychological novel about a woman who suspects that things are not quite right although she seems to be in an ideal marriage and has a loving son. Easy, short read well told although sometimes you don't know the unreal from reality. The ending leaves you somewhat questioning the heroine's sanity : no doubt intended by the author.

Mixed feelings about this book. Started off iffy and I almost put it down after the first couple chapters. I did end up finishing it and did like the end, but was left feeling out of sorts because the author leaves the reading wondering what really happened and never does explain. Was Marta dealing with mental illness or an evil husband? We'll never know.

A desperate life and an ambiguous end. Was she mentally unwell or a victim of something more sinister? Hard to tell. Well written tension makes for uncomfortable reading - you wonder what is actually going on but never really find out!

An extremely depressing book that left a lot of questions unanswered. I won't be looking for more books from this author and would not recommend this one.
