(The second book in the Carpenter and Quincannon Mystery series)
I am not terrifically fond of period stories but I am very fond of Pronzini & Muller individually. This is the 1st of the Carpenter & Quincannon stories I've read - I might possibly try another, but I felt that the solution was telegraphed in the 1st chapter and I didn't care for Quincannon - but was I supposed to like him? Anyway, this was not up to the standards I've come to expect from Pronzini or Muller.
Easy reading cozy. Not quite as good as the Sharon McCone series but definitely worth a read.
This is the 2nd book in an excellent new cozy mystery series. If you enjoy period pieces (this one's set in San Francisco 1895), you will love this sseries! I'm looking forward for book #3 to be released.
