Made me think of A Pilgrim's Progress; a Victorian Pilgrim's Progress! The story laboured at times but there were bright sparks here and there.

This book started out interesting then it became so far fetched and into religion. Honestly, I did not understand three quarters of it. I had no idea what the characters were saying. It was too philosophical and religious for me. If you are not christian, this book does not make any sense whatsoever.....I love Anne Perry, but this book.........

Much prefer Perry's usual Christmas mystery. This piece was too mystical, very unbelievable and quite confusing.

While this looks like a usual holiday offering, this book is very insightful and inspiring. A wonderfully perceptive read, and one I highly recommend.
