I am relaying this information from a home bound client: This was really a very good book, rather long, but it held my interest and I appreciate the library supplying it very much!

This is an excellent study by the typical Mr. Sides deep research & accuracy. All these years, many in states where Native American reservations & lore abound, I was very surprised & certainly had to adjust my lack of education. The Navajo res in Northern AZ is nearly one fourth of the state, hauntingly beautiful. I found that less is known or realized as to the centuries old tradition of warring tribes is uncannily similar to modern times. Slave ownership, stolen lives, gruesome, inventive torture, abound in this read. A more realistic view of the famed Kit Carson. I found it difficult to listen to this reader for more than half an hour at a time, so overly dramatic.

Really enjoyed this historical telling of the life of Kit Carson and the Navajo people (the "Dine"). The two storylines develop side by side and occasionally merge and part again. Well written and fascinating!
