Etta Spencer’s mother had many secrets - secrets that would begin unfolding on the biggest night of her life. Etta, a violinist, was performing the Largo from Bach’s Sonata No. 3 when the secrets began to unfold. The notes that usually flowed beautifully were screeching and high-pitched and the air vibrated. When Sophia grabs Etta, she is literally pushed into a world she has never known. Suddenly she is onboard a ship and meets the captain face-to-face. Nicholas is bound and determined to help Etta on her quest to find her mom. Nicholas has his family and secrets to contend with and Etta hers – the two together are determine to find the astrolabe that can either keep them together or change the lives they know. Great book that will keep you guessing what is going to happen next. Cannot wait to read the sequel to the book that will reveal the journey that Nicholas alludes to in the end.
